With exceptional founders and entrepreneurs at the heart of our businesses, we invest across Europe in a broad range of sectors and industries including consumer products, healthcare, food, and tech-enabled platforms. We are flexible in our investment approach, and our private equity activity typically entails minority growth capital, i.e. investment in companies that are looking for capital to accelerate organic growth or to fund an acquisition without a change in control of the business. We may lead one or more rounds of funding or work in tandem with consortium partners. In each case, we seek to align interests and values through customised governance structures.
Structured Investments
Our structured investments business provides debt and other forms of capital when a direct ownership stake is not a viable or attractive option, or sometimes in conjunction with a direct equity investment. This includes asset-backed loans, cashflow based loans and various types of convertible debt tailored to each specific situation. Our past and present investments have also included corporate bonds, syndicated loans, externally managed funds, and a fully owned and operated portfolio of solar plants.
Real Estate
Demographics are a strong base for long term value creation. With Student Experience, we develop and operate purpose-built student accommodation in continental Europe with a strong focus on creating safe and inspiring living communities. Buvermo, our US team, has a strong track record across asset classes including multi-family, town houses and offices. Our latest venture, Arden Senior Housing, focuses on developing and operating affordable senior housing for the active adult market. We invest in commercial real estate on a cyclical basis, as well as development projects when opportunities arise.
